Criterion en HD et UHD

Freaks est ce qu'il est, mais c'est un film bien conservé. The Unknown a fait l'objet d'une restauration récente qui a mis en lumière des scènes autrefois absentes (ce sera la version reconstituée d'après le site) et The Mystic a été montré il y a une quinzaine d'années chez Brion. Il m'a laissé le souvenir d'un film improbable, un peu fou, qui sera à revoir dans une copie décente; ce sera l'un des plaisirs de curieux de ce coffret qui promet d'être attendu avec impatience...

et puis Freaks, quoi; Freaks!!!!

Criterion ont repris leur collaboration avec Canal, donc c'est effectivement probablement la même restauration de départ (comme ce fut le cas, par ex, pour Mulholland Dr ou Le cercle rouge).

Le film était déjà sorti en UHD chez Sony. Ici, on retrouve les autres suppléments de la précédente édition Criterion, auxquels ils ont adjoint Texasville dans deux versions, et également pourvu de suppléments. Par contre, seule la version director's cut de La dernière séance semble proposée pour le moment, là où le disque Sony proposait aussi le montage ciné d'origine sur un disque UHD séparé.
